“Having a Lost Pet: Tools to Bring them Home”

Having a lost pet, dog, cat, horse, hamster, you name it, is emotionally draining. Not knowing if they are safe, injured, lost or stolen is so completely unsettling it takes over your thinking. Over the weekend my parents visited with their three and half-year-old black female cat, Lucy. She has been to our cabin a dozen times however it’s been over a year since she had been familiarized with the property. She arrived to friendly neighbor dogs visiting, barking and being “dogs.” It sent her out the door scurrying to safety, whatever safety looked like to her at that moment.

Needless to say, Lucy went AWOL. She went on a three day walk-about where we couldn’t find her. Unfortunately we had to come home Sunday night and leave her behind as I had a wedding to perform. Not something I could get out of on short notice. We drove back to the cabin last night, which is an hour and a half drive from our house, to see if we could find her.

Now this is where it gets good. Every time I asked “the Powers That Be,” if she was coming home, I got a resounding “yes.” I knew it was all about trust and solid belief however my mind kept taking over and fear settled in my stomach. We had searched both Saturday and Sunday before we left; there was nothing to be heard, no sound, no meow. The forest felt empty. You could tell she wasn’t there.

My dad’s world is wrapped around Lucy. He is elderly and quite frail. Lucy brings him great joy daily. She’s so vitally important to my parents lives and their structure. Knowing this too, I wish more elderly people had animals to help them through their lives. I love the programs where they line up homeless pets with elderly patients in care facilities; what a blessing.

Back to Lucy. I sent out energetic heart connections to Lucy from my parents and myself. I continued to sing her name over the trees and water throughout the evening and well after midnight. I had my parents continue to call for her. I visualized the Nature Spirits, whom I had talked to on every walk through the woods, lighting up her path with vibrant energy back to our cabin. I truly felt she had lost her way and gone too far, way beyond her safety zone. By utilizing the Nature Spirits’ energy, knowledge and assistance I feel they truly helped brighten her trail back to safety. I sent her the image of the cabin lit up like a Christmas tree, each window sparkling bright with dazzling light, as her beacon to follow. I called in the incredible cat spirits I’ve had in my life to join the mission and lead her home. I spoke with St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals, as well as the God Apollo as he also is a “Patron of Animals and Healing” to protect her and guide her back to us. (Notice the present tense verbs in mentioning them.)

At 3:00am Lucy walked through the open door we had waiting for her, skittish as hell, but home from her journey. She slept like the dead once she’d settled down, happy to be reunited with her loved ones. I was told she’d arrive yesterday. Since it was still technically dark, I counted it.

Finding a lost pet is actually rather challenging. Some honestly do not know if they’re still in body or if they’ve passed to the other side, their concept of death is so different than ours. We were fortunate, however I also had great assistance. The situation reminded me over and over to trust, believe, and boldly ask for help. We have so much assistance waiting for us if we only genuinely ask. The more you step away from “fear” the greater the opportunity of recovery, which applies to virtually everything.

If by some chance, you have the unfortunate experience of having a pet go missing, I truly invite you, I encourage you, to utilize the visualizations, ask for assistance and trust the higher process. It could mean the difference between having an empty house or a home filled with loving animal magic.

To all our wonderful and loving furry friends.

Cosmic sunshine to you.
