“Women’s Number One Relationship Mistake”

Seriously, do women only make one relationship mistake? Probably not, however this one can be a deal breaker yet is easy to remedy and rectify if discovered, acted upon and perceptions changed. It doesn’t matter the age, this old belief pattern is hard-wired into our DNA. But if we are to make a serious dent into melding the genders, this pattern needs to shift – Now!

Any guesses? Has anyone really assessed what would radically change – for the better- their relationship with their special man? Or “working” relationship, or with their father? Nope, it’s not talking about shopping and having the nails done, however that’d be a wonderful start. It’s “assumption.” Assumption that the man “just knows,” he can figure out what you need, he’ll be “Johnny on the spot.” “He should “Just Know,” is the repetitive line I hear over and over from women. Well, that just ain’t so! I have two sons, two husbands, a wonderful dad, multiple working male relationships and that’s simply not the “truth” of things. Men are engineered completely differently.

Women are so cute. We want our men to be like our women friends, caring, kind, intuitive, generous and communicative. Our brains are goings billions of directions every minute. We become irritated when our men don’t come through in the same way – we’re let down, disappointed, discouraged. Remember, men have two compartments to compliment their two lower extremities – the gonads. It’s that simply. Once that’s completely understood, the best and most pro-active and positive action a woman can take is:

1. Take a deep breath and forgive them for what they cannot give.
2. Take the loving initiative to communicate exactly what it is you want and desire.
3. Show and express gratitude when they make the effort to fulfill your wishes.

Men love to please. They essentially want to make their significant partner happy by doing for them what they desire, however the higher percentage is, they don’t have flipping clue as to what their partner’s want, as the women are in assumption role, thinking, “He should just know!”

This is a big upside down circle going nowhere! And it’s so easy to correct, if we, the women step it up, see and believe in the men for who they are, and clearly state, simply and directly, what we’d like to have in our relationship.

From Phoenix, by Dan Fogelberg:
“I never knew what you wanted, and I guess that I never will,” sums it up quite succinctly.

Here’s to putting assumptions and ego aside, because no matter how hard you wish for it to be otherwise, it’s not the truth of the situation, men and life. Make your relationship strong, successful, deep and connected by being lovingly honest, communicating clearly.

Cosmic sunshine to you.
